Nice weather for ducks

I spent Thursday morning walking around Ilkley, mainly at the park, taking some photographs for my art project. The plan was to take photos of the people who are out, whilst it was raining and very windy, and the park seemed the best place, where people had to go out to walk their dogs. After a while when there was hardly any people around, I turned my focus to the ducks in the river, who didn't seem to mind the weather at all!

Festival Fever!

Definitely the highlight of this summer was the festivals I went to, and I wish I'd of gone to more!
I took my Diana to Beatherder and Moor Music Festival, and a disposable camera to Leeds Fest, and the photos simply make me smile each time I see them. Film cameras are perfect for festivals, to get a one off photograph which can't be deleted by someone because they look 'awful', and leaves you with butterflies in your tummy when you pick them up from being developed!

Beatherder, 2nd - 4th July

Moor Music Festival, 12th - 15th August

I can't wait to start planning next years festivals now!

Today has not been the best day . .

I got a parking ticket, because I was so distracted by some other stuff to realise that there was a 30 minute time limit, and I was getting my hair cut, which took a good 2 hours or so. AND I went to get the film I got developed, but somehow managed to put it in wrong and it came out blank.
But I'll get over it, and off tomorrow to the camera store and he said he'll help me out. . haha I love being an amateur, but you've got to learn somehow!

Heres a few shots, taken for my art project, but really we were just having some fun busking on the streets.

My new obsession..

The first song I play when I get on my spotify playlist? (My big ipod broke, and my 2gb doesn't hold enough for me to bother to get new music on my itunes) RJD2 - Ghostwriter

the video will not embed ! but still, check it out, it's easy listening with a nice beat!

"Rjd2's music is a collage of cut-and-paste hip-hop that combines disparate elements to make for soulful, moody portraits of the world."

I thought I'd upload a few of my older photographs, these were taken for my work experience, in a magazine company, where I just spent a week creating my own magazine front cover and 2 double page spreads, couldn't of asked for more!

I was about to have a nap, when suddenly the coffee kicked in and my camera came out

Saturday 11th September

My mothers birthday, and a late night the night before, all I felt like doing at 2.45pm was going for a nap before work. . but as soon as I had shut my eyes, I had an idea to get a photograph of my Mother on her birthday, with the flowers that my brother had delivered, as he is in America at the moment, she was so happy she cried, bless her. I got her out in the garden and took a few shots, but she doesn't like being photographed much, and kept being distracted by the vast amounts of butterflies that were in the garden! So I let her go and continued taking a few photographs, . . and ended up being late for work!

I managed to resist any editing to the 3 above, but had to make a sliiiight change to the 2 below.

Butterflies never stay still for long enough! Using my Canon 400D and Corel Paint Shop Pro to edit.

My new art project for film is comparing Analogue and Digital Photography, and today I spent a while researching some analogue photographers, and came across some amazing photos.

I wish I could find models who would be willing to do as many photoshoots for me, these are genuinely beautiful photographs !

I don't think there is a single photograph on his stream that I didn't like, the composition is just perfect everytime!

I love the lighting in these photos, it really brings out the shadows and creates a beauty in every detail.

I spent Saturday finishing off the film I had left in the Olympus OM10 that my Grandad gave me a few months ago, and sent it into develop today, I'm so excited for the results, although I'm a little worried that with it being the first time I've used it, that I'll of just messed up on a lot of the settings. . We'll just have to wait and see, . I love the feeling when I get back analogue photographs, so much so that I get butterflies when I get the packet in my hand!

LomoLove

There was one thing that I did get out of this summer, and that was the chance to really use my Diana F+! I've selected a few favourites to show!

London, long shutter to capture the light of the tube rushing past

South Kensington. Me and the mother stayed in a lovely apartment/hotel, genuinely the most beautiful buildings I've walked by in London

The Millennium Bridge. Using the Splitizer for the first time! Even more surprising results!

My mother, and in the theatre, we watched The Woman in Black, I absolutely loved the way they created such a tense atmosphere, with just the two actors, sound effects and lighting!

Manchester, China Town. The colours didn't come across as well as I'd of hoped.

Manchester, I just love this city and I can't even explain why!

The River Wharfe, Burley. This was a lovely day, with my friend and my dog, sat by the river reading The Other Hand. The sound of the river is so peaceful.

Me and my favourite trainers :')
